The toll is expected to rise as rescuers search for dead and survivors in dozens of collapsed buildings across the region. Footage captured by the Syrian civil defense in Idlib shows the recovery efforts, with bulldozers being used to clear debris.
Rescue workers and residents in multiple cities searched for survivors, working through tangles of metal and giant piles of concrete.
